Pratt paces SUNY Canton triumph over Wells

CANTON — Tanner Pratt scored four goals on five shots to lead the SUNY Canton men’s lacrosse team to a 15-9 victory over Wells College in a nonconference game Tuesday.

Steve Novak scored three goals for SUNY Canton (4-8 overall). Trevor Wright and Chris Gamble each scored two goals, and Taylor Caswell, Ryan Cardiff, Garrett DiTullio and Cam Carter added single goals.

Connor Jansen led Wells (3-7) with a four-goal effort.

n Marilyn Farrell scored four goals, assisted on four and also picked up four groundballs to lead SUNY Cortland (16-0, 7-0) past SUNY Potsdam in a SUNYAC women’s lacrosse game in Cortland.

Michaela Cole and Bri McClusky both scored twice for SUNY Potsdam (4-10, 0-7), and Hannah Keggins also scored for the Bears.



COLLEGE BASEBALL

Vassar sweeps St. Lawrence in doubleheader

POUGHKEEPSIE — Nick Johnson and Cory Wuenschell each went 2-for-3 in game two, to help Vassar College earn a sweep of a Liberty League baseball doubleheader against St. Lawrence University 4-3 and 3-1.

Brooks English led Vassar (12-9, 7-5) in the opening game as his single in the bottom of the fifth drove in Brad Kendall with the winning run.

Bryan Palermo went 3-for-4 for the Saints (13-12, 9-8) in game two.
