Anyone who knows Mark Montroy has been blessed to be associated with his great sense of humor, his love for life and his great enjoyment for golf and bowling.
In the weeks ahead he will still have his sense of humor, his love for life along with his dedication to family as weapons in a fight against pancreatic cancer.
On Sunday, Sept. 14 a golf tournament will be staged at Montroy’s home course, the Gilbert Greens Golf Club. The tourney will be a Four-Person Captain N Crew event and will begin at noon.
The tourney is to raise money for medical bills and traveling expenses.
The $65 a golfer entry fee includes green fees, cart food on the turn, prizes to be given to first and second place teams along with prizes on most of the holes for closest to the pin and longest putts.
“Mark Montroy is loved by so many people. God bless him and his family,” said Jeff Hooper who begun organizing the tournament.
“Anyone that wants to donate prizes for golf holes please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 315-244-6620.
Hopefully area golfers will mark Sept. 14 on the calendar and make a point to support Mark Montroy and enjoy the fine playing conditions at Gilbert Greens.
Donations will also be accepted at the course on the day of the tournament.
On Sept. 19-20-21 the Gilbert Greens Golf Club will be having its Club Championship. Anyone interested in playing should please sign up at the clubhouse.
Competitors can play their first round on Friday Sept. 19 or Saturday Sept. 20 and the final round is being played on Sunday, Sept. 21. Golfers will be placed in a flight determined on what they shoot the first day. There will be Championship Flight, an A Flight and a B Flight.
The tournament’s rules will be listed at the club house.
