STAR LAKE — State police on July 22 charged Jason M. Gilmour, 39, of Ogdensburg, with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Troopers said that at 4:30 p.m. at a campsite between 292 Benson Mines Golf Course Road and the American Legion, Mr. Gilmour was found in possession of a sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun that had a barrel length of less than 18 inches. Troopers said they were conducting interviews as part of an investigation into a burglary at the American Legion.
Mr. Gilmour was convicted Jan. 14 in St. Lawrence County Court of third-degree attempted arson. As a convicted felon, he is not to possess firearms. He also had a bench warrant for his arrest issued out of Canton Town Court. He was arraigned in the Pierrepont Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, without bail.
