BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Former Clarkson University men’s hockey player and assistant coach Jean-Francois Houle was recently named as head coach of the East Coast Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors.

Houle played at Clarkson from 1993-97 and was an assistant coach at the school from 2003-2010. He left the Golden Knights to coach major junior hockey. He coached the Lewiston Maineiacs from 2010-11 and spent the last three years as head coach of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Houle, who is a 39-year-old native of Lasalle, Quebec, compiled a 174-101-12-18 record in 305 games as a head coach, a .617 win percentage.

After his playing career at Clarkson, Houle spent five seasons playing professional hockey.
