CLAYTON — River keeper volunteer training will be hosted through the summer by Save the River.
River keepers work to protect the public’s right to clean water by patrolling local waterways, tracking down sources of pollution, responding to citizen complaints, identifying problems that affect water quality and advocating for environmental laws and regulations to ensure clean water.
Training will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. July 12 at Save the River, 409 Riverside Drive; from 10 to 11 a.m. July 17 at Minna Anthony Common Nature Center, Cross Island Road, Wellesley Island, and from 6 to 7 p.m. July 30 at Save the River.
All volunteers will receive a river keeper volunteer guide and T-shirt. To register, call 686-2010 or email Kate@savetheriver.org.
