WATERTOWN — An Adams man was ordered Monday in Jefferson County Court to repay $21,357 in welfare benefits he received unlawfully from the Department of Social Services.

Bradley L. Lillie, 40, also was sentenced to an unspecified amount of time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and five years’ probation after pleading guilty April 1 to third-degree welfare fraud. He admitted that from Nov. 1, 2010, to May 31, 2013, he received $21,357 in benefits from DSS while filing false information.

In other court activity:

Dwayne C. Wright, 27, Bronx, formerly of the town of Pamelia, was sentenced to time served at the PSB and five years’ probation after pleading guilty Feb. 19 to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He admitted that on Sept. 27, with others, he tried to possess cocaine with the intent to sell the drug at his former residence at 22917 Plaza Drive, Apt. 2. His probation supervision will be transferred to New York City.

Charles A. Eiss, 55, Adams, was sentenced to four weekends served at the PSB and a three-year conditional discharge with orders to complete the Bridge program after pleading guilty April 4 to felony driving while intoxicated. He admitted that he drove while intoxicated Jan. 19 on County Route 85 in the town of Ellisburg. The charge was a felony because he had been convicted of misdemeanor DWI in May 2011 in Adams Village Court. He also was fined $2,500, had his driver’s license revoked and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates.
