MALONE Brushton-Moira and Section 10 standout golfer Devin Delisle successfully defended his medalist honors at the annual Craig Chisum Memorial Intersectional Golf Tournament held at the Malone Golf Club on Wednesday. Delisle topped the field of 81 with a one-over par 73 to win his third title in a row, edging out Saranac Lakes Ethan Sawyer (74).
OFAs Conor Hannan was the second Section 10 finisher with a 79 and Malones Davis Sprague shot an 83 to finish third for the host section. Section 7 retained its Chisum Tournament championship with a team stroke average of 88.80, while Section 10 finished with a 92.47 shot average.
The Section 10 coaches, led by Madrid-Waddingtons Aaron Jones (78), were also victorious by defeating their Section 7 counterparts, 84.87-85.00.
The tournament is held in memory of Craig Chisum, who was an avid golfer from Malone and was tragically killed by a drunk driver while attending Methodist College in North Carolina in the late 1980s. A scholarship is given each year at Malones Franklin Academy for a student who is pursuing a business degree in college and has a strong interest in golf.
