SACKETS HARBOR — Todd R. Farrington Jr., 30, of 13051 Route 3, was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident after his license plate was discovered at the scene of an accident on County Route 75 shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies found a license plate in the wreckage of the accident, in which Mr. Farrington allegedly struck a road sign. After identifying the plate as belonging to Mr. Farrington’s vehicle, deputies found the vehicle at the Bedford Creek Campground and Marina, 16750 Allen Drive. Mr. Farrington was located in his boat docked in the marina and arrested on the charges.

His blood alcohol content was 0.15 percent, deputies said, nearly double the state legal limit of 0.08 percent that constitutes proof of intoxication.

He is to appear in Hounsfield Town Court.
