Hammond Central School has announced this year’s senior class leaders:

This year’s Valedictorian is Emily Bush, daughter of Samuel and Julie Bush, with a three-and-a-half year average of 98.899. She has been accepted at Elmira College, Clarkson University and SUNY Oneonta. Emily is pursuing a Medical Career and she will be attending Elmira College.

Emily is a member of the National Honor Society and has been part of the HOBY Leadership Program for three years. She has been involved in Spanish Club, Science Club, Mock Trial, NYSSMA Solos and All County Band for numerous years. Emily was nominated for the Air Force Math & Science Award, the Clarkson Leadership Award, the RPI Medal Award and the Bausch & Lomb Science Award.

Emily has played soccer, basketball and softball all four years of high school. She has received Academic All-Northern Awards in all three sports. Emily has been a Girl Scout since 2003 and a volunteer at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. She also participates in Relay for Life and the Gouverneur Health Charity Walks.

Emily will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Majors in Allied Health, Math, Science, Spanish and English. She also earned 15 college credits from SUNY Canton and 7 credits from North Country Community College.

This year’s Salutatorian is Stephanie Morgan, daughter of Tammy Howie and Stephen Morgan, with a 3 average of 93.549. She has been accepted at SUNY Potsdam, Geneseo, Brockport, Oswego, Elmira College and St. Lawrence University. Stephanie wants to pursue a career in Psychology/Counseling.

Stephanie is a National Honor Society member and a very active Student Council President. She has participated in Science Club and NYSSMA Solos all four years of high school. Stephanie played softball all four years and received Academic All-Northern Awards.

Stephanie was nominated for the Wells 21st Century Leadership Award, the Sage Colleges Award, the St. Lawrence Augsbury Award and the Air Force Math & Science Award. She will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Majors in Math, Science, Spanish, Business and English. Stephanie has earned 9 college credits from SUNY Canton.

Our third honor student is Bridget Kron, daughter of Scott and Darlene Kron, with a 3 average of 92.803. She is hoping to pursue a career in Pharmacy and will be attending Jefferson Community College.

Bridget was nominated for the Clarkson Leadership Award, the St. Lawrence Augsbury Award and the University of Rochester Xerox Award.

Bridget played softball and was a Cheerleader. She is a National Honor Society member and participated in Science Club. Bridget also took part in NYSSMA solos and River Rhythms.

Bridget will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Majors in Math, Science, Business, Social Studies and Pharmacy Technician.
