OGDENSBURG - The Massena Central varsity girls lacrosse team relayed a 7-0 halftime lead into an 18-3 win on the road over NAC rival OFA on Thursday.
Trysten Burns tallied four goals and an assist to anchor another balanced effort for the Lady Raider offense. Jacelyn Lazore chipped in three goals and one helper. Shannon Casey and Courtney Manley generated two goals and two assists each. Krysten Stone and Ashlynn Olson contributed two goals apiece. Devon Kelly, Meagan Morgan and Abby LaClair all netted solo goals while Katie MacCuaig logged two assists.
Sky Hoover paced the OFA effort with a pair of goals. Brooke Badlam accounted for the other goal while Mackenzie Bresett helped set up all three Lady Blue Devil tallies.
Felicia Love turned aside three shots working the Massena crease for the win. Marissa Foster recorded 11 saves for OFA (2-5).
Massena (5-2, 4-1) returns to action on Saturday with a non-league game at Watertown High before playing host to Potsdam Monday afternoon in a mid-season rematch of NAC leaders starting at 4:30 p.m.
In other varsity girls lacrosse action on Thursday, Heuvelton notched a 9-4 non-league win over Northwood Prep.
In the lone NAC varsity boys lacrosse matchup, Canton pulled away to a 19-3 win over Colton-Pierrepont under the lights at the SUNY Canton turf field.
Peyton VanBibber, Lance Pier and Cody Moore broke through for three goals each to lead the winning attack. Josh Huiatt tallied a goal and three helpers while Tanner Sanderson, Gage Emerson and Dane Ames finished with two goals apiece. Ryan Caldwell, Zachary James and Mark Mahoney all netted singletons while Nate Gibson and Andrew McCormick made two saves each sharing crease duties for the Bears.
Ethan Knight, Jon Porter and Scott Boyce connected for the C-P goals while Major McKinley turned aside seven shots backstopping the losing cause.
