POTSDAM — The SUNY Plattsburgh men’s lacrosse team controlled play in the second half to hand SUNY Potsdam an 11-6 defeat in a State University of New York Athletic Conference semifinal on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was tied 4-4 at halftime, but No. 3 Plattsburgh (13-5) outscored the No. 2 Bears 7-2 in the second half. Plattsburgh will travel to play top-seeded SUNY Cortland in Saturday’s title game.

The Bears hope to earn a bid to the ECAC New England Tournament.

Brendan Damm led the Cardinals with four goals. Tim Lawrence tallied three goals and Jack Felter scored twice.

Rob Kunz and Matt Donovan each scored two goals for the Bears (10-6), while Ryan McConnell and Ed Doherty also scored.
