WATERTOWN — Taste of the Town is returning to Watertown on Saturday after a one-year hiatus.

The 11th annual event will feature more than 40 restaurants and businesses on the first floor of the Dulles State Office Building, 317 Washington St.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local foodies can sample appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages from area restaurants including Cafe Mira, Adams, Ruyi Asian Fusion, Watertown, Stefano’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, Carthage and many more.

Admission is $3. Tickets cost $1 for a single sample, $10 for 12 and $20 for 25 samples.

Proceeds from the event will support the Victims Assistance Center — which provides comprehensive services to victims and survivors of violence and crime in Jefferson County — and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Watertown.

The Victims Assistance Center was unable to hold the popular fundraiser in 2013 because it was pursuing “new endeavors,” but brought the event back this year by partnering with the Sunrise Rotary Club, according to a news release.

As usual, a panel of celebrity judges will award participants various honors — including Golden Taste of the Town, Silver Taste of the Town, Best Presentation of the Town and People’s Choice Award.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Tom Gagnon and Josh Weise.

Children’s activities at the event will include face painting, clowns, hair extensions and the Watertown Fire Department’s “Fire Prevention House.”

For more information, contact either of the event’s co-chairwomen: Jennifer Loonan at 401-261-5001 or via email at jennifer.loonan@twcable.com, or Christine Petrie at 489-3831 or via email at christine@northernglass.com.
