TURIN Lewis County sheriffs deputies arrested Michael Rouscher, 23, of West Leyden, on charges of driving while intoxicated and trespass on Saturday at 5:29 p.m.
Deputies said they initially responded to Snow Ridge Ski Resort for a complaint of a pickup truck driving up the slope, but the vehicle had left the scene by the time they arrived.
Sheriffs said they received calls that the same truck was in Brantingham driving across peoples lawns. While deputies were driving to the scene, they said they saw the vehicle driving south on Route 12 in the town of Turin. Deputies stopped the vehicle and said they detected an odor of alcohol.
Mr. Rouscher failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was transported to the Lewis County Public Safety Building, Lowville, where he registered a 0.13 blood alcohol content, deputies said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes proof of intoxication.
He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Lewis County jail, Lowville, on $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
