A Fort Drum spouse and caregiver was at the White House on Friday for an event promoting the caregivers of wounded military service members and veterans.
Teresa M. Henning, the states sole fellow with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, was among those joining first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden for the event.
Mrs. Henning has helped care for her husband, Staff Sgt. Michael Henning, a military police officer, since he suffered a traumatic brain injury, nerve damage in his shoulder, a broken rib and other injuries in an improvised explosive device attack in Iraq in 2008.
He serves on post with the 227th Military Police Detachment, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade.
