ADAMS—Three Jefferson County residents were arrested Wednesday after $11,000 worth of heroin and cocaine allegedly was discovered during a vehicle stop.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies stopped a 2011 gray Jeep Cherokee on Interstate 81 near Exit 41 northbound in the village of Adams about 11:15 p.m.

Max S. Haslip, 24, last known address 1269 Coffeen St., Apt. 4, Watertown, the owner and operator of the vehicle, was driving with a suspended license, and three glassine envelopes of heroin were found in his possession, police said.

Two passengers, Samantha L. Turner, 20, last known address 26739 Goulds Corners Road, Evans Mills, and Stormy N. Fields, 18, last known address 714 S. Massey St., Apt. A, Watertown, both were arrested on drug possession charges.

Ms. Turner had one glassine envelope containing heroin and Ms. Fields was found in possession of an ounce of powder cocaine and 20 grams of heroin, police said.

Both Mr. Haslip and Ms. Turner were charged with one count each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Mr. Haslip also was charged with driving while license suspended. Both were released with appearance tickets for Village Court.

Ms. Fields was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony. She was arraigned in Village Court and held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, on $15,000 cash bail.

Members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task force and the state police C-Net unit assisted in the investigation.
