ADAMS—The father of a Rhode Island woman killed in a Syracuse car accident in mid-March died Friday at age 93.

Frank Cook died at his home on North Adams Heights, surrounded by family.

Jennifer S. Cook, 43, and her mother Barbara, 72, were walking on the 900 block of East Genesee Street about 1:15 p.m. March 14 when they were struck by a Mazda pickup. Both were taken to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, where Jennifer later died of her injuries. Barbara initially was listed in critical condition, but was released from the hospital March 21.

The driver of the truck, 86-year-old James McDonald of Chittenango, has not been charged.

Earlier reports indicated Jennifer was in town to visit her father, who was hospitalized because of illness at the time, and to take her mother to a doctor’s appointment.

Calling hours for Mr. Cook will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Piddock Funeral Home, 7 N. Park St.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 1330 Gotham St., Watertown.
