ELLISBURG Jefferson County sheriffs deputies responded to a report of a hitchhiker on Route 11 in the town of Ellisburg at 2:36 p.m. Saturday.
After Christopher J. Bartlett, 44, of 16849 Comstock Road, Adams, identified himself, deputies said they discovered he was wanted on an active arrest warrant for second-degree harassment out of Watertown City Court. He was arrested on the charge.
As Mr. Bartlett was being searched before entering the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, two small brown vials containing marijuana and a multi-colored pipe were found in his possession. He subsequently was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
