The Jefferson County Local Development Corp. will host an educational workshop on doing business in Canada from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Ramada Inn, 6300 Arsenal St. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and is free.
Presentations during the conference will highlight Canadian services available to north country companies in trade counseling, market intelligence, business matchmaking, commercial diplomacy and connecting with business mentors. Speakers will include Rep. William L. Owens, D-Plattsburgh; John Tracy, international trade specialist for the U.S. Department of Commerce; Steven King, director of the Central New York International Business Alliance; Jim Trubtis, director of business development for Mohawk Global Trade Advisors; and Warren L. Creates, Canadian immigration attorney for Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall, Ottawa.
