The Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad is kicking off their 2014 annual appeal for donations. Letters will be sent out soon to addresses within its primary response district. This year they are offering other options to donate. People will be able to purchase a customized brick for the Memorial Garden or the entrance way. Room decorations within the building can also be purchased. The Rescue Squad is in need of community support. Reimbursements from insurance providers have diminished while the cost of providing superior emergency medical attention has greatly increased. Training costs, equipment costs, medications and material costs are putting a financial strain on the squad. The Rescue Squad has taking several cost cutting and saving measures but it is not enough. They also depend on community support. For that reason, when you receive this letter, please give what you can. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. For more information call Ken Gardner at 393-0837.
