Benchmark Family Servicess request to make interest-only payments on an outstanding loan from this month through September was approved Tuesday by the Jefferson County Industrial Development Agencys loan review committee.
The move will be considered for approval by the agencys full board on Thursday. It would allow the daycare center at 1635 Ohio St. to make monthly payments of $566 instead of principal payments toward the $226,464 it still owes to the agency.
On Thursday, the Watertown Local Development Corp. approved a similar temporary repayment plan by enabling Benchmark to make interest-only payments from February through September.
Benchmark, which was bailed out by the agencies and Watertown Savings Bank in 2012 so it could stay open, owes the WLDC $224,433 on its loan.
