Complete basic training: Five north country residents have completed basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio Texas:

Air Force Airman 1st Class Jordon T. Jackson, son of Laurie and Thomas Jackson, Copenhagen. He is a 2008 graduate of Copenhagen Central School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from Utica College.

Air Force Airman Jamia L. Garcia, daughter of Wally Garcia, Fort Drum, and granddaughter of Laura Garcia, Jacksonville, Fla.

Air Force Airman Devinn J. Conger, son of Angie and Fred Conger, Massena. He is a 2010 graduate of Massena Central School and earned an associate degree in 2012 from North Country Community College, Saranac Lake.

Airman 1st Class Alyxandra I. Scalone, daughter of Leslie MacMartin and stepdaughter of Amy Jennings, both of Ogdensburg. She is a 2013 graduate of Heuvelton Central School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Ford C. Wright, a 2006 graduate of Faith Fellowship Christian School, Watertown. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from Multnomah University, Portland, Ore.

She completed her licensing exam and will begin work as a nurse on the staff of Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. Miss Hafer is the daughter of Matthew and Mary Kay Hafer, Potsdam, and granddaughter of Gen Hafer and Elizabeth Fogarty, both of Potsdam. She graduated from Potsdam Central School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany.
