BRASHER FALLS State police on Monday charged James A. Pearce, 52, of 1700 County Route 53, Brasher Falls, with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.
Troopers allege that at 6:30 p.m., Mr. Pearce went to a neighboring home to visit an ex-girlfriend and got into a dispute with another man who lives at the address and cut him in the leg with a utility knife, causing a minor injury. The alleged victim did not seek medical attention.
Troopers would not release the alleged victims names or the address where the altercation took place.
Mr. Pearce was arraigned in Massena Town Court and was sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
