Competes: Maxwell J. Graham, a local alpine ski racer representing Dry Hill Ski Team, qualified for the U16 age group in the super G, giant slalom and slalom at Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, Feb. 20 to 23. He races through the Division Team East.
Winner: Dawn Brown, Salcha, Alaska, formerly of Lowville, placed in two classes of the Feb. 9 ExxonMobil Sled Dog Race, sponsored by the International Sled Dog Racing Association. She took first place in the adult eight-dog speed class, finishing the 20-mile course in 55 minutes and 44 seconds, and took second place in the adult four-dog speed class, finishing the 12-mile course in 35 minutes and 1 second. Honored: Several members of the New York Air National Guard were honored for their combat service on Feb. 9 at the 174th Attack Wing Hometwon Heroes Salute ceremony. He event was held for all units on the Air National Guard Base, Syracuse.

Honored: Julian Rufa, seventh-grader at Ogdensburg Free Academy, was recently named the February OFA Student of the Month by the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Rufa received a certificate from OFA and a Chamber Dollars check from the Chamber of Commerce.
