CARTHAGE — The Carthage Free Library will host “Mush! The Race Is On!” from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 17. Dogsled racer Nancy Stark will bring her six-dog team and teach about dogsled racing, and the famous Iditarod race. Author Hope Marston also will be at the library to talk with visitors about a children’s book she cowrote titled “Eye on the Iditarod,” and author Marcus Mastin and illustrator Jamie Peck will be on hand to talk about their book, “A Mouse Named Newton.”

The library will host the Lego Building Challenge from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 19. Participants can bring their own Legos or use those available at the library. Pictures of participants and their creations will be posted on the library’s Facebook page.

The library will host Craft Day from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 20. Young people can come and make toad houses, grapevine wreaths, duct tape art and straw paintings.

For more information on any of the activities, call the library at 493-2620.
