POTSDAM Richard H. Peters, 34, of 39 South Main St., Norwood, was charged by state police with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child Saturday afternoon, following the investigation of a Friday night incident.
Police said Mr. Peters was chasing his ex-girlfriend, April L. Regan, and their two children at around 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Peters tried multiple times to cut them off while following her car on a snowmobile on Austin Ridge and River roads in Potsdam.
Ms. Regan has an order of protection against Mr. Peters.
Mr. Peters is being held at St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Norfolk Town Court.
