HAMMOND — A strong second half helped the Hermon-DeKalb girls basketball team rally to produce a 51-50 win over Hammond in an Northern Athletic Conference West Division game on Tuesday.

The Demons (9-1 overall, 7-0 division) trailed 28-17 at halftime, but outscored Hammond 34-22 in the second half.

Hunter Hitchman led the Demons with 18 points and Bridget Rust tallied 16.

Cassie Whalen led Hammond (6-5, 5-2) with a 13-point effort and Paige Frisina scored 10.

MADRID-WADDINGTON 44, TUPPER LAKE 24

Jenn King scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets (9-2, 7-0) past Tupper Lake in an East Division game in Madrid.

Katie Zurek led Tupper Lake (3-9, 2-7) with 10 points.

ST. REGIS FALLS 43, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 40 (OT)

Jenna Susice tied the game with a 3-pointer at the end of regulation and the Saints (3-4) went on to defeat Parishville-Hopkinton in an East Division game at St. Regis Falls.

Madison Greenwood scored 19 points for the Saints and Susice finished with 10. Brianah Work scored 10 points and grabbed 20 rebounds.

Kelsey Putnam scored 14 points for the Panthers (3-4) and Kodi Perkins tossed in 12.

CHATEAUGAY 61, SALMON RIVER 36

A 23-point game from Katie Beach sent Chateaugay (8-3) past the Shamrocks in a nonleague game in Fort Covington. Abby Barnes scored 13 points and Brianna Cook added 10.

Jaden Mitchell and Taylor Francis each scored 11 for Salmon River (4-5).

BOYS BASKETBALL

CANTON 50, LISBON 42

Scott Wight scored 15 points and was named the Most Valuable Player as Canton (7-6) defeated the Golden Knights in the title game of Lisbon’s James Darcy Memorial Tournament.

Louden Porter scored 14 points and Francesco Palumbo added 11 for Canton.

Ryan Buckley led the Golden Knights (10-2) with 16 points.

SALMON RIVER 64, HAMMOND 42

Kasen Tarbell scored 18 points as the Shamrocks (4-6) defeated Hammond in the consolation game in Lisbon.

Russ Oakes scored 11 points for Salmon River. Brock Tulley led Hammond (4-9) with 13 points and Zech Cunningham tallied 11.

HEUVELTON 42, HARRISVILLE 41

Jeff Arquitt scored 13 points to help Heuvelton (6-6, 5-2) past the Pirates in a West Division game in Harrisville.

Jake Palmer produced 12 points and Mike Martin added 11 for Heuvelton.

Brendan Best led the Pirates (6-6, 4-4) with 15 points and Tim Fowler tallied 10.

POTSDAM 48, INDIAN RIVER 46 (OT)

Nick Vaccaro scored 15 points to send the Sandstoners (7-6) past Indian River in a nonleague game in Potsdam.

Dequan Pitts scored 11 points for Potsdam. Shelton Williams led the Warriors (7-3) with 14 points and Daniel Angelo and Malik Tillman each tallied 12.

ST. LAWRENCE 68, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 33

A 31-point game from Josh White helped the Larries (1-11) to their first win of the season in a nonleague game in Parishville.

Wyatt Snell led the Panthers (2-9) with 12 points.

HOCKEY

NORTHEASTERN CLINTON 3, MALONE 1

Mason Letourneau tallied two goals as Section 7’s Northeastern Clinton (4-4-1) defeated the Huskies in a nonleague game in Malone.

Ryan Marks also scored for Northeastern Clinton. Jordan Scharf scored for the Huskies (5-9-1).
