WADDINGTON - Marie L. Zarzycki, 42, Madrid, was charged by Massena-based state police with aggravated DWI following a traffic stop at 2:27 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers said Zarzycki was stopped by the U.S. Border Patrol on Route 37, Waddington, and then turned over to state police. She was also charged with consuming alcohol in a vehicle on a public highway.

Zarzycki’s blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent, troopers said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more constitutes intoxication.

The elevated count of aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.
