Karen M. and Christopher E. Martin, ages 22 and 25, respectively, of 24428 Route 11, Calcium, were arrested Tuesday morning for their alleged roles in $14,198.88 worth of fraudulent purchases.
According to police, the two used another persons state benefit card to make the purchases at Rite-Aid, 315 Arsenal St., between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5. The exact items allegedly purchased were not reported.
Upon an investigation, the two turned themselves in at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. Ms. Martin, who is on probation, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and Mr. Martin was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Ms. Martin was held on $10,000 cash bail and Mr. Martin was held on $5,000 cash bail. Both are to appear in City Court.
