Youth gymnastics begin Saturday

The Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department will be offering Introductory Gymnastics for youth, ages 4-7 and 8-11 beginning this morning and the sessions will continue each Saturday until March 8. Times for those ages 4-7 will be 9-10 a.m. while those 8-11 years of age will participate from 10-11 a.m.

The 10-week program is held at the Kennedy Elementary School Gymnasium. For the first day, the program will be held in the APE gym and it will be moved to the main gym for the remainder of the program.

Staff and children are asked to enter off the teacher’s parking lot closest to BOCES Northwest Tech. The cost is $20 per child and youth must be registered in order to participate. Registration will take place at the Dobisky Visitors’ Center, 100 Riverside Ave., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants can also sign up the morning of the program.

WRESTLING: This Parks and Recreation program for area youth will begin Jan. 7 and take place each Tuesday and Thursday until March 21. (No wrestling will take place during Winter Break Feb. 19 and Feb. 21).

This program will go from 6:30-8 p.m. at the OFA Wrestling Room and the cost per youth is $10. Youth must be registered in order to participate.

SUNDAY FAMILY SWIM: This recreation program is held from 1-3 p.m. at Ogdensburg Free Academy’s pool beginning on Sundaym Jan. 5. The program ends March 9. There will be no Family Swim on Jan. 12. This program is free and for the general public. All are welcome to attend.
