A Sacramento, Calif., man who was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated and other traffic offenses was arrested early Friday after city police said he had a loaded handgun and an assault weapon in his car.
Shane M. Millard, 33, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly was found to have a loaded .45 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun in his vehicle at 264 S. Massey St. On the same occasion, police discovered he possessed an AR-15 rifle. Police said he also had a flash suppressor, collapsible stock and pistol grip.
He was arrested at 12:21 a.m. and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the handgun and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the assault rifle.
Mr. Millard was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was held on $20,000 cash bail pending arraignment in City Court.
