CROGHAN — Maple producers will have an opportunity to head back to school later this month.

The annual Winter Maple School will be held Jan. 17 and 18 at the American Maple Museum, 9756 Route 812.

A session geared toward small and beginning producers will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 17. The cost is $5 per person.

The regular winter maple school, which has been held in Lewis County since 2006, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 18. The cost, including lunch and materials, will be $15 for participants who preregister by Jan. 15 and $20 for walk-ins.

Attendees at the latter program can sign up for four different workshops, including one on marketing syrup to China.

For more information or to register for one of the sessions, call the Cooperative Extension of Lewis County office at 376-5270.
