THERESA — A Theresa man was charged Friday by state police with violating an order of protection.

Scotty D. Tummons, 42, of 303 Pine St., was arrested at 2 p.m. and charged with first-degree aggravated criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor. He was charged in the first degree because of a guilty plea to the same charge last year.

Mr. Tummons is accused of sending text messages to Jessica L. Barbrow, Theresa, violating an order of protection.

He was held at the Jefferson County jail on $10,000 bail.
