Motorists charged with driving while intoxicated

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Katie L. Schongar, 21, of 35 Johnson Drive, Massena, was charged by state police Friday night. Police said she was stopped on East Orvis Street, Massena, for an inadequate signal. Ms. Schongar’s blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.

n Shenae T. Tarbell, 21, of 149 Jock Road, Hogansburg, was charged by state police Saturday. Police said she was trying to cross the Canadian border and get back into the U.S. Ms. Tarbell’s BAC was 0.14 percent, police said.

n Nichole A. Senter, 23, Potsdam, was charged Saturday night by Potsdam village police after someone reported a suspicious vehicle on Market Street. When police conducted a traffic stop, they found Ms. Senter to be the operator of the vehicle. Her BAC was 0.13 percent, police said.

n Theodore L. Francis Jr., 52, Hogansburg, was charged Saturday by Massena village police with felony DWI. Police said he was stopped for imprudent speed on South Main Street. He has had a DWI conviction within the past 10 years, making the new charge a felony.
