WEST CARTHAGE — During a special meeting of the Champion Town Council last Monday, a public hearing was set for 7:15 p.m. Jan. 6 concerning the proposal to extend Sewer District 2.

The board reviewed a plat report prepared by Bernier, Carr & Associates, Watertown. Kris D. Dimmick of Bernier, Carr suggested the board prioritize the $2.5 million project based on available funding.

“The sewer district expansion is needed to take in the Britton property on Farney Pit Road, and Caskinette’s Lofink requested to be put in,” Town Supervisor Terry L. Buckley said. “We needed to do it to get everything that wanted to be in it. No sense running pipe and not including everything. We intend to include the replacement of the transmission line.”

Mr. Dimmick had told the board the expansion should be the priority and the transmission line was still serviceable.
