City police are continuing their investigation into the vandalism of a black Muslim immigrant’s vehicle in Watertown earlier this month

In the Dec. 7 incident, the 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche of Issa Alzouma had its windshield shattered, and the front- and back-seat windows on the driver’s side smashed. A note left on the windshield of Issa Alzouma’s truck contained several racist and anti-Islamic slurs. The note also called on him to quit his job.

Watertown Police Detective Sgt. Joseph R. Donoghue said the department is looking for more evidence and witnesses from the incident, and that no arrest was anticipated.

The Council on American Islamic Relations called for the incident to be investigated by the FBI. On Dec. 11, a FBI spokesman in Albany said the agency was aware of the incident and able to assist if needed.
