A Carthage man was charged by city police after he allegedly broke into a Watertown residence.
Jason W. Meeker, 36, of 411 S. Mechanic St., Apt. 14-1, was arrested at 11:59 p.m. Monday after police said he forced his way into the residence of Thomas J. Sweredoski, 344 Winslow St., Apt. 1. According to police, Mr. Meeker attempted to take a wallet and money belonging to Mr. Sweredoski.
He was arrested at the Winslow Street location and charged with second-degree burglary. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was held on $10,000 cash bail pending arraignment in City Court.
