Police charged an Ogdensburg man with driving while intoxicated Saturday afternoon, now that the man no longer is bedridden from serious injuries he suffered when he crashed his vehicle Nov. 15.
Michael W. Horton, 34, of 592 Pray Road, was flown to Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt., after he was ejected from his moving vehicle.
Police said Mr. Horton was attempting a curve on Pray Road when his vehicle left the roadway, striking a road sign and a tree before he was ejected from the passenger side window. Police said the vehicle then came to a stop after hitting a telephone pole guide wire.
Police said Mr. Horton was reported to be home Dec. 3, but wasnt in a condition to be placed under arrest.
He is scheduled to appear in Lisbon Town Court. His blood alcohol content was not available.
Also charged with DWI and related offenses:
■ Patrick F. McCollum, 24, Middle River, Md., was charged by state police Saturday night.
Troopers said Mr. McCollum was stopped on Route 37 in the town of Oswegatchie for failing to stop at a stop sign.
His blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent, police said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication.
