■ CARTHAGE — A new computed tomography scanner recently arrived at Carthage Area Hospital. “The Philips Ingenuity Core 128-Slice CT Scanner has improved resolution, advanced clinical capabilities and offers low-dose radiation,” a hospital news release said.

n SACKETS HARBOR — The Sackets Harbor Central School PTO will hold a Veterans Day breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the American Legion, 269 Ambrose St. All are welcome. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for soldiers or veterans, $4 for children and free for children 3 and younger.

n The 35th annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of Flower Memorial Library raised more than $11,200 to benefit the library’s book collection. A preview night attracted $1,500 in book sales and several new members for the Friends organization.
