NORWOOD — Cold, snowy weather didn’t delay the concrete slab pouring of the Habitat for Humanity house being built at 28 Cottage St. for Colleen M. Lewis, Potsdam, and her sons Bailey J. Frego, 14, and Colby A. Frego, 12.

JoAnne M. Fassinger, Canton, vice president of Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity, said Richie Burnett, a contractor from Parishville, finished pouring the concrete Wednesday morning. The walls and trusses will go up Saturday, with 20 Alcoa members volunteering from 8 a.m. to noon and students from St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton volunteering in the afternoon.

“We want to try to get all the walls up so we can work on it through the winter,” said Melissa M. Cummins, a SUNY Canton junior and president of SUNY Canton Habitat for Humanity.
