BRASHER FALLS - The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for Winter Carnival 2014.

The Winter Carnival will start on Feb. 13 and run through Feb.16.

An important part of the preparation is the design of the Winter Carnival button. These buttons are used as tickets to enable the wearer to get into certain events during the carnival week-end and they become collector items. They are currently running a contest for the design of the 2014 Winter Carnival button. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize as well as recognition throughout the Tri-Town area.

If you are a high school student in one of the three towns - Lawrence, Brasher or Stockholm - in the Tri-Town area you are eligible to enter the contest. Certain other rules apply.

They are: the theme “Proud To Be An American” must be depicted in the work; the term “Tri-Town Winter Carnival 2014” must appear on the design; the names of the three towns must appear on the work; only hand drawn/painted work that can be shrunk to a 2 inch round button will be accepted; colors this year will be red, white and blue; the type of medium is your choice but beware of media that may smudge such as chalk pastels; entries must be received by the chamber by Dec. 2.; name, address, phone number and a short statement about the design must be included with the drawing. There is no limit on the number of entries per individual. We anxiously await your entries.

Mail your entries with name, address and phone number to The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 297, Brasher Falls, NY, 13613. If you have any questions, call Bill Lewis at 389-5284, or email him at wlewis7@twcny.rr.com.
