Ogdensburg chamber annual award winners to be named today

The winners of the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce trio of annual awards will be announced today.

Executive Director Sandra M. Porter said that an eight-member chamber committee will meet this morning at 8:30 to decide which three among 20 candidates will be named the chamber’s 2013 Citizen of the Year and Business Improvement and Outstanding Community Service award winners.The three winners will be officially recognized at the chamber’s annual dinner on Nov. 8.The dinner is a major chamber fundraiser.

“We can’t give the dinner a good launch until we know the names of the winners,” Ms. Porter said.

The 2012 recipients were: Citizen of the Year, Ogdensburg sports journalist Dave Shea; Business Improvement award, Ogdensburg Dance Center and Salon 1020; and Outstanding Community award, Carlisle, Carrothers and Clough law firm.
