High school soccer: OFA shuts down Canton

OGDENSBURG — Conor Hannan scored one goal and assisted on another to help lead the Ogdensburg Free Academy boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game Tuesday.

Hannan scored the first goal of the game in the 26th minute for the Blue Devils (11-1-2 overall, 9-0-2 division). He assisted on a goal from Rudy Binion in the 66th minute. Jake Sias made six saves to shut out the Golden Bears (10-3-1, 8-2-1).

MASSENA 4, MALONE 1

Ryan Moffitt scored two goals to send the Red Raiders (5-10, 4-7) past the Huskies in a Central Division game in Massena.

Jason Hamill scored one goal and assisted on another for Massena. Brendan Broderick also scored for Massena.

Isai Paradones scored for the Huskies (8-6-1, 6-5-1).

POTSDAM 5, SALMON RIVER 1

A three-goal effort from Ebuka Ononye helped Potsdam (10-5, 7-4) defeat Salmon River in a Central Division game in Fort Covington.

Pat Normandin and Dylan Gruneisen also scored for the Sandstoners. Josh Hynes scored for the Shamrocks (5-10, 3-8).

LISBON 5, HAMMOND 2

Pedro Janini scored twice to send the Golden Knights (12-2-1, 11-1-1) past the Red Devils in a West Division game in Lisbon.

Kane Jordan, Jake Putney and Ryan Mason also scored for Lisbon.

Brock Tulley and Jaylin Raglin produced goals for Hammond (4-10-1, 4-8-1).

HARRISVILLE 3, HEUVELTON 0

Zane Mono finished with three saves as the Pirates shut out the Bulldogs (4-9-2, 3-8-2) in a West Division game in Heuvelton.

Chris Sullivan scored a goal and assisted on a goal by Jared Dreythaler for the Pirates (13-1-1, 12-0-1). Justin Hartle also scored for Harrisville.

EDWARDS-KNOX 5, CLIFTON-FINE 0

Kaden Dandrow, Tucker O’Brien, Hunter Tuttle, Nic Davis and Abe White all scored for the Cougars in a shutout victory against the Eagles (0-15-1, 0-14) in a West Division game in Russell. Rich Finnerty made three saves for the Cougars (7-6-1, 6-6).

MADRID-WADDINGTON 3, ST. REGIS FALLS 2

Kaden Pickering and Harrison VanBuren scored goals in the second half to send the Yellowjackets (12-1-2, 11-0-2) past the Saints in an East Division game in St. Regis Falls.

Dakota Matthie also scored for the Yellowjackets. Louis Goodrow and Ryan Duquette scored for the Saints (4-8-1).

CHATEAUGAY 1, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 0

Chad Stalter scored a second-half goal off a pass from Brennan Secore to send Chateaugay (11-3-1, 10-2-1) past Norwood-Norfolk in an East Division game in Norwood. Josh Trombley made one save to shut out the Flyers (7-7-1, 6-6-1).

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 1, COLTON-PIERREPONT 0

A four-save effort from Kobe Wells helped the Panthers defeat the Colts (3-10-2, 3-8-2) in an East Division game in South Colton.

Preston Frank scored for the Panthers (10-2-3, 8-2-3) in the 37th minute.

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 3, ST. LAWRENCE 0

Taylor Tallman finished with 14 saves to lead the Panthers past the Saints (1-12-1, 1-11-1) in an East Division game in Brasher Falls.

Alex Burnett scored twice for Brushton-Moira (2-8-3), and Roland Burke added a goal and an assist.

GIRLS SOCCER

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 8, ST. LAWRENCE 2

Kodi Perkins, Brianna Hayes and Nicole White each scored two goals to power the Panthers (12-3, 9-3) in an East Division game in Parishville.

Cassara Cole and Natalie Stone also scored for Parishville-Hopkinton. Lindsey Thayer and Elizabeth Lynch scored for the Larries (3-11-1, 3-9-1).

CROSS COUNTRY

HUSKIES WIN NAC TITLE

Malone’s Carrie Pomainville finished in third place overall as the Huskies won the team title at the Northern Athletic Conference championship race at SUNY Canton.

Malone finished with 36 points and Canton was second with 44. Norwood-Norfolk finished third with 53.

Norwood-Norfolk’s Kaycie Saucier was the individual winner, finishing the 5-kilometer race in 18 minutes, 50.50 seconds. Canton’s Laura Pierce was second in 18:59.60.

MALONE BOYS DOMINATE

Will Bronner finished in fourth place for Malone and the Huskies finished with five runners in the top 10 to take the NAC championship race at SUNY Canton.

Malone had 32 points and Gouverneur was second with 56, followed by Norwood-Norfolk at 73.

Gouverneur’s Jake Erdman was the individual champion, finishing the 5-kilometer race in 16:38.40. Norwood-Norfolk’s Kyle Fulk was second and Gouverneur’s Luke Dunkelberg finished third.

GIRLS SWIMMING

ST. LAWRENCE 58, MALONE 36

Cammie Ramsdell won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races to help the Larries (6-4) prevail in Malone.

Rita Mills won the 50 and 100 freestyles for Malone (2-8).

VOLLEYBALL

CHATEAUGAY 3, MALONE 2

Kylie Hanley finished with 11 service points and 19 assists as Chateaugay (16-0, 10-0) remained undefeated with a 25-18, 25-25, 28-25, 25-20, 25-15 victory over the Huskies in an East Division match in Malone.

Bailey Dowd added 10 points for Chateaugay. Rachel Lamica and Whitney Legacy each scored 11 points for Malone (13-2, 8-2).

MASSENA 3, SALMON RIVER 0

Krysha Argus led Massena (8-7, 5-4) with nine kills in a 25-20, 25-19, 26-24 sweep of Salmon River in an East Division match in Fort Covington. Sam Villnave added eight kills for Massena.

Raven Oakes led the Shamrocks (8-8, 4-6) with nine points.
