Jandreau, Kerr take top honors in Remington Arts Festival Student Competition

CANTON - The Student Art Competition and Exhibit of the Remington Arts Festival was held recently in the Canton Free Library.

Participants were from Canton, Potsdam, Parishville-Hopkinton, Norwood-Norfolk, and Clifton-Fine central schools and their art teachers are Michelle Rodee, Ashley Eipp, Ray Whalen, Jason Hubbard, Ben Yandeau, and Rebecca Milone respectively.

Eric Thacher, a representative from the St. Lawrence County Art Council, completed the judging along with the assistance of members of the SAC&E Committee. Sponsors were the Canton Area Zonta Club, Grasse River Heritage and the Haley-Nichols Fund of the NNY Community Fund. Prizes were awarded to the following students:

1st Prizes High School : Delaney Kerr (C-F), Leslie Jandreau (NN)

Honorable Mention High School : Keith Bollt (Potsdam), Leslie Jandreau (NN)

Lower Level Awards: Keely Smith, Heather Kearney and Jeffrey Crum, all from Parishville-Hopkinton.

Judge’s Choice Awards: Hailey Leonard ( C ), Shelli Wray (P-H), Katherine Shannon (P-H), Daylon Hotte (NN), Catherine Brownell (P), Sam Lee (P), Hunter Hitchman (C-F), Michael Charleson (P-H) and Molly McMasters ( C ).
