The public will have two more chances to find out about the four Watertown City Council candidates.

At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25, a candidates forum will be held in the auditorium of Immaculate Heart Central Junior/Senior High School, 1316 Ives St. Another meet-the-candidates event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Italian-American Civic Association, 192 Bellew Ave.

The IHC forum will consist of brief statements by the candidates and audience members asking candidates questions. The event, which will be moderated by John Moore of WWNY-TV7 and WNYF Fox 28, has been organized by Scott Ruehle’s high school government class.

Students from speech and dramatic arts classes also will be involved in helping to publicize the forum and helping to set up lights and sound equipment.

For additional information, contact IHC Junior/Senior High School at 788-4670 or Mr. Ruehle at scott.ruehle@ihcschools.org.

Billed as a meet-the-candidates luncheon, the Oct. 31 event at the Italian-American club is sponsored by the Women’s Council of Realtors. It will include candidates for Jefferson County clerk, Watertown City Council and Jefferson and Lewis county legislatures.

There will be a meet and greet followed by a buffet lunch. After lunch, all candidates will be introduced and will have three minutes to talk about their experience, background and why they are seeking office.

After the program, there will be more time to talk to candidates one on one and pick up campaign materials.

Cost of the luncheon is $12 for Realtors Tri-County Chapter members and sponsors and $15 for nonmembers and the general public. For reservations, call 782-1322 before Oct. 29.
