Police arrest three on drug charges

OGDENSBURG — City police on Tuesday arrested three men on drug charges, including intent to sell crack cocaine, allegedly for a Buffalo-based narcotics ring.

Arrested at 7:18 p.m. at 157 Belmont Courts were Kaquane B. Bovain, 30, aka “KO” and “Sleezie,”of Jamaica, Queens, unlawful possession of marijuana; Reginald A. Barnes, 26, aka “Day Day,”of Buffalo, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, crack cocaine, and Triston L. Glenn, 31, aka “T” and “Fresh Money,”of Cambria Heights, Queens, also third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, crack cocaine. and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Mr. Bovain is due in City Court on Friday.

Mr. Barnes and Mr. Glenn were arraigned Wednesday and each ordered held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton.

“There are more arrests pending,” Detective Sgt. Robert H. Wescott said Wednesday.

The arrests occurred when officers from the police department’s narcotics enforcement unit and uniformed patrols with members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, consisting of the county sheriff’s office and K-9 unit and the Gouverneur Police Department, executed a search warrant at the federal housing project after an investigation of reports of drug trafficking and crack cocaine sales at the apartment.

Officers found in the apartment a quantity of prepackaged bags of crack cocaine, cash, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A total of 50 bags of crack cocaine with a street value of $5,000 were found.

None of the suspects is a residents of Ogdensburg.

“Our investigation leads us to believe that these individuals are members of a drug-trafficking organization known to our agency,” Detective C. Daniel Mousaw said in a prepared statement. “This organization is based out of the Buffalo area. We continue to track this organization and through a series of arrests of organization members are working to eradicate their presence here in our community.”
