FALSE PERSONATION - MASSENA - A Massena man’s decision to run rather than follow a police officer’s instruction to drop his open container of alcohol resulted in a night spent in the village lockup.

Village police charged Raymond M. Trimm, 27, of 2 Willow St., Apt. 102, Massena, with the open container violation as well as resisting arrest and false personation.

Police said Trimm refused to drop the alcohol and took off running. He was taken into custody at 9:57 p.m. Monday after a short foot chase on Cornell Avenue. Trimm identified himself as Joseph Woods, but they said learned his identity through their investigation.

Trimm was held in the village lockup overnight and then transported to St. Lawrence County Court for arraignment on a bench warrant issued by county court.
