City police arrested a Watertown man after he allegedly rammed his wifes car off the road with a pickup truck Sunday night in the 700 block of Gotham Street.
A 4-year-old boy also was riding in the victims vehicle, but nobody was injured, police said.
Edward M. Hayden Jr., 33, of 27003 Route 3, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment, failure to keep right and following a motor vehicle too closely.
He is accused of chasing his wife, Jessica R., 36, same address, in his pickup truck following a domestic incident and ramming her car repeatedly while they were driving north on Gotham Street about 8:35 p.m. Sunday. She was forced off the road at Gotham Street and Flower Avenue East and crashed through a fence of a Flower Avenue East property but managed to narrowly avoid hitting a tree, police said.
The accident caused approximately $5,000 in damage to Mrs. Haydens vehicle, according to court documents.
Mr. Hayden was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Monday in Watertown City Court.
