On Saturday the parking lot behind Julies Dance Studio, 206 Ford St., will be flooding with supporters of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Centers inpatient services to demonstrate the communitys dedication to the facility.
A proposal by the state Office of Mental Health would see inpatient services relocated downstate.
The dance studio is asking members of the public to join them for a photo at 3 p.m. which will be taken in the parking lot.
According to a news release from the studio the photo will be taken from above so as to capture the entire crowd.
Secretary to the City Manager and Mayor Coralee Barrett said, Its community. Its public. If youre available please come.
The dance studio is asking as many people as possible to wear the bright green save the SLPC t-shirts that are available at City Hall for the photo.
Mrs. Barrett said she will be at the event with extra t-shirts, which are $10 each, for sale.
But the main point is to have a large crowd regardless of what people are wearing, according to the release.
No one from the dance studio could be immediately contacted to comment.
People are asked to arrive between 2:30 and 3 p.m. to prepare for the photo.
The photo at Julies Dance Studio is part of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Task Forces on-going campaign to demonstrate regional support for the inpatient services at the psychiatric center.
Mrs. Barrett said she sent out invitations to more than 250 regional businesses inviting them to take a photo of their staff wearing t-shirts supporting the psychiatric center in order to help publicize their efforts.
Interested businesses should contact Mrs. Barrett at the Ogdensburg City Hall.
