Sherman Elementary School was locked down for about an hour Friday morning following a domestic dispute inside the Sherman Street school.
Terry N. Fralick, superintendent of the Watertown City School District, said students were kept in classrooms during the verbal disagreement in a hall and city police were notified.
They responded and took control of the situation, he said. It was a domestic dispute and we had to deal with it accordingly.
Mr. Fralick said he also went to the school and spoke to the two people involved. He declined to identify the parties or say whether either is a parent of a student.
