OFA gained its second win of the NAC Central Girls Soccer season with a 3-1 win over Norwood-Norfolk.
Alicia Shaver produced all three Blue Devil goals - all coming in the second half - as OFA improved to 2-6, 2-5 on the season.
Alicia (Shaver) has really stepped up her game. Riley Luckie and Danielle Guimond also pulled the front line together making some excellent crosses and great give and go passing to keep the threat up all game. At midfield Mollee Ahrens hustled and played a great game with Samantha Rishe, Kayllee LOrange and Janelle Cordwell creating some great movement on the field, said OFA Coach Al Rishe Jr.
Taylor Smith showed her versatility playing in many capacities for me as a fullback, midfielder and front line. We missed our starting goalie Jordan Marcellus due to illness but Krysten Snyder played a terrific game with 23 saves. She covered the goal and cut off the angles on a very aggressive Norwood front line. Although Alicia Sharpe, who was playing a fantastic stopper position is out on a knee injury for the rest of the season, Ashley Sovie has stepped to fill in nicely working very well with Courtney Sherwin, Mackenzie Holland and Sadie Brown to show a strong defense. Overall I am very proud of the girls for pulling it together and playing like the winning team I know they are.
Shaver opened scoring unassisted in the 47th minute for OFA. Aleah Palmer scored from Kylie Lashomb to tie the game for N-N (0-7, 0-6). Shaver connected unassisted for the game winner in the 53rd and scored from Riley Luckie in the 57th. Kiersten Snyder handled 23 shots for OFA. Megan Plumb made six stops for N-N.
